CanBee Cocktails is committed to funding a grant program to assist in furthering the available research on bees as pollinators in the United States. 

Two, $1,000 grants are available to undergraduate/graduate student researchers who are making an impact in the fields of bee pollination, management, diversity, and/or conservation research in the United States. Research on any species within Anthophila is welcome. Particular attention will be paid to researchers who see the value in making their research accessible to the general public. We want to share your great work with the masses!

Eligibility:

  • Proposals are welcome from any student currently conducting research on bees.

  • Grant funds may be used for supplies, equipment, travel necessary for data collection or other research tasks, publication fees, or any other use (excepting salary) deemed appropriate by the recipient and directly related to a research task.

Submission requirements:

  • Unofficial transcript or photo of student ID card with date (any proof of enrollment)

  • Curriculum Vitae (no formatting requirements)

  • One-page description of research question and significance, and methods to be employed

  • Budget breakdown (written for a scientific audience; to be reviewed by consulting scientist)

  • Graphical abstract, infographic, short video, or other creative project about your planned research that could be shared on social media (prepared for lay audience; to be reviewed by CanBee Cocktail team) – BEE CREATIVE!

  • Winners of the grant will be asked to provide another creative project about their results that can be shared with the public one year following receipt of the grant
